Dr. Harinder Babbar
I am extremely proud to say that I am the owner of McQueen Animal Hospital, which I opened in December of 2012. I graduated from College of Veterinary Sciences, Punjab, India in 1995. I practiced small animal medicine in a practice that I owned for 10 years. In 2010, I obtained my license to practice in Canada. Since then, I have dedicated my life to the profession, volunteering my time in various veterinary hospitals throughout Canada and the United States, including referral and specialty centres. While I enjoy all aspects of veterinary medicine, I have a particular interest in internal medicine – the medical specialty dealing with the prevention, diagnosis, and treatment of diseases.
I started McQueen Animal Hospital under the premise of providing high quality veterinary care to the Brampton and surrounding community, where your pets’ special interests are always the first priority. I have invested in only the best medical equipment, as that is what your pet deserves. I understand the special bond that a pet has to their family, and feel honored to play an important role in their health and well-being. I am dedicated to the service of animals and mankind, and encourage you to visit the clinic to experience this first-hand.
Dr. Justin Chen
Dr. Chen has graduated from OVC in 2013 and has been practicing with small animals for over the past 7 years. I have worked in the spay and neuter clinics and emergency clinics in the past. In the picture is Dr. Chen's Dog, Toffee, who likes to visit every Mondays and Wednesdays.
Registered Veterinary Technician
Hi! My name is Emily and I am a Registered Veterinary Technician. I graduated from the Veterinary Technician program with honors from Northern College in April 2016. I then enrolled in the Companion Animal Physical Rehabilitation program at Northern College and graduated with honors in April 2017. Growing up I loved all animals, both large and small and from there I knew I wanted to work with animals for the rest of my life. My interests in the veterinary field include physical rehabilitation, dentistry, oncology, laboratory research and equine medicine. I love it here at the clinic and every day I look forward to working with our clients and patients, providing compassionate care and continuing to build my knowledge as I move forward in this career. I currently share my life with my rescue dog Lily and my horse Amber. In my spare time I enjoy horseback riding, snowboarding, travelling and jet-skiing
Hello, I graduated with a Bachelors in veterinary science and animal husbandry (B.V.Sc & A.H) from India back in 2016. Moving to Canada was just the push I needed to channelize myself to work harder to achieve my primary goal of providing service to our furry friends with a better educational and infrastructural background in place. I have been in this field with hands on experience with large and small animals since 2015 and hold a diploma in wildlife disease and management.
I would call myself a cuddler of dogs and a squisher of cats, always keen to learn and share in practice.
For as long as I remember I always wanted to work with and for animals only then I was too young and wasn’t aware there were doctors for animals too so I thought of becoming a trainer, zoo keeper, animal handler etc till I came to realize that we too could be healers to our furry friends in difficult times. I knew right then this was my destiny and I will continue to work towards achieving it, to clear the licensing exams and practice as a veterinarian in Canada.
The one thing that keeps my spirits high being away from my family and fur babies is working for these lovely souls.
My name is Melanie and I am the veterinary assistant here at McQueen Animal Hospital. Ever since I was little I have always had a love for all animals. My career began when I started volunteering for the Mississauga Humane Society back in 2013, which I still currently do on weekends and I organize the cat rooms and socialize the cats to find their fur-ever homes. Soon after, I graduated from Sheridan College with honors from the Animal Care Program. From that time, I have gained a lot of experience in the grooming field and medical field. I plan on going back to school to further my education by getting a degree in Animal Behaviour and Biology or as a Registered Veterinary technician. When I am no at work, I like to spend my time with my friends and family and my two cats Bombay and Savannah.
I am a Veterinary Assistant here at McQueen Animal Hospital since April of 2016. I graduated from York University with a Bachelor of Science Biomedical degree to pursue a future career of becoming a Veterinarian. I have always felt a special bond with animals, and it is an amazing opportunity to work with them and help them with the best of my abilities here at McQueen. I currently share my life with my cat named Tigger, and could not imagine my life without him.
Hi! My name is Jessica and I am currently enrolled in Sheridan College’s Veterinary Technician Program with a pending graduation date of April 2020. I previously graduated from Sheridan in 2016, receiving high honors in their Animal Care Program. My dream is to someday become a DVM, as my entire life’s passion revolves around animals and their care. Working with animals has always brought me so much joy; there is something so beautiful about taking care of and helping such sweet creatures that brings tears to my eyes. I have always followed my heart in terms of my career, and it consistently brings me to working with animals as this is my true happiness. I love dentistry, pathology, laboratory studies and animal rehabilitation. I have travelled Central American caring for and rehabilitating exotic endangered species and was always surrounded by wildlife and domesticated animals as a child. I grew up on a farm, having pet turtles, fish, iguanas, pigs, ferrets, chickens, ponies, horses and so much more! I wish that I could have a zoo at my house, but because of my busy schedule I only have two kitties Prego (who is in the photo!) and Ellie, and one fish (Icy).
